Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s E3 2014 trailer and gameplay footage are delightfully stirring

Monday, 9th June 2014 23:48 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s E3 2014 trailer continues the franchise’s tradition of making history much more exciting than you remember from high school.

Creative director Alex Amancio introduced this gorgeous trailer, which was followed by Assassin’s Creed: Unity E3 gameplay footage – check that out below.

Ubisoft has since released a direct-feed gameplay demo with commentary from Amancio, and you’ll find that second from the bottom, with a trailer focusing on Arno, our new hero, at the very foot of the page.

Ubisoft emphasised that Unity’s open world is a systemic one – that means various elements should interact according to rules independently of the player, rather than when scripted. Assassin’s Creed games have always had an element of this, but not on the kind of scale Ubi is pushing for thanks to next-gen hardware.

Assassin’s Creed Unity with four-player co-op will launch globally on October 28 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The graphics in this game is off the hook, absolutely stunning amount of characters on screen. I hope they dont pull a watch dogs and dumb this down at release.

Looked fantastic. I am glad they took the leap to next gen because now they can move forward and have done so with the co op and allow you to pick how you want to complete a mission even more so.

Looks really good, I’m excited. I was really looking forward to AC3 and was a bit let down. Skipped AC4 at launch, played it earlier this year. Was not let down. This just looks pretty awesome. Minor complaint: His robe looks silly, but it’s gonna customizable anyway :D.

How do you know what it is? It’s probably some sort of dumb stuff like the PlayStation exclusive missions or the Batman Arhkam Pre-Order bonus. No reason to hate just yet :).
