Persona 4 PS3 release date announced (and it’s really, really soon)

Friday, 4th April 2014 00:40 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Persona 4 really is coming to PlayStation 3, publisher Atlus USA has confirmed, with launch just days away.

The classic and much-praised RPG will release via the North American PSN as a PS2 classic playable on PS3, Atlus confirmed.

Expect it on April 8 – next week’s PlayStation Store update.

“Astute fans will recognize the date is three days before the main character transfers to Yasogami High School, so if you’re the type of super-dedicated player that wants to play the game exactly to the calendar date, there’s still time,” Atlus said.

The surprise port was outed by an ESREB rating earlier this week, and Atlus has confirmed to Eurogamer the release is for North America only.

One of the most popular entires in the soprawling Shin Megami Tensei franchise, Persona 4 was remade for Vita as Persona 4 Golden

Not quite what I was expecting.

If it’s an option, go with the far superior Vita version. If not, it’s still definitely a worthy venture.

@ninja4z As long as the console is registered to that machine, you can use any profile on the PS3 to play it.
