Now, I’d truly riot this time if I don’t get a key! My buddy DSB is expecting me.

How exactly are they giving out keys? is it to the first 400 who put their emails or randomly selected? Also would it be wise to enter multiple emails or would that disqualify you for being unfair? thanks guys goodluck

IF it wasnt for another TESO beta this weekend I’d sign up. I watched the opening first 10 to 15 minutes of this game and it didnt impress me, it seemed pretty generic. I realize for an MMo that is a rather short time, but still it seemed like a typical ftp MMO to me.

@fearmonkey If you have a beta key and you don’t wanna play the game do you mind gifting it to me? :)

You’re welcome to them, guys. It’s just a fantasy game with a sci-fi skin, which was hugely disappointing to me. It’s nowhere near as genuinely sci-fi as its prime inspiration (Ratchet & Clank). Or even retro sci-fi, as it’s not that, either.

I mean, twenty minute taxi rides when you have teleportation technologies? No. No! Even Guild Wars 2 knew better than that.

The only thing I actually did like about it were the aesthetics and the engineer’s bots. All I came away with though was a longing for those aesthetics to be applied to a better game. Oh, and there’s the utter misogyny present in the dimorphism of the races… and I found that nauseating.

Don’t believe me? See for yourself. That is not a respectful way of handling women.

    And so grindy and unfun

So it’s more WoW 1.2 than 2.0, even, and definitely nothing like more modern MMO efforts such as The Secret World or Guild Wars 2. I tried it on good faith, I really did, because I don’t like completely dismissing anything without trying myself. But this is something I’ll never play again.

Disclaimer: I’m not worried about the NDA as everything I’ve talked about here has been shown in Youtube videos. I checked.

Your initial conclusions (and mine) are correct for the rest of the game. I played it for quite some time hoping that something (anything!!!) interesting would happen. All it was was another WoW-like exploitative grindfest.

Maybe I’ll try ESO to see if I was wrong about that.

@Wishmaster I’m sorry as I myself an anxiously waiting to try it. I said what I said to theWulf because I’ve come to know what type of MMORPGs he tends to hate and they those games are usually picking up after WoW. They are grindy, n00b-crushing and have hardcore players in mind. He doesn’t like those. It’s an entire different story for me as I like those. So I’d love myself a WildStar beta key.

To those maybe still wondering, it seems keys either have just gone out or are still in the process of doing so. I just had one show up in my inbox 15 minutes ago! Count me stoked! Good luck to everyone else on the hunt and I’ll see you in Nexus ;)
