    That’s the first time I’ve seen 360/PS3 shots of the game. Not exactly a graphical slouch. Nice!

    If Kojipro’s Fox engine is scalable across multiple generations to that extent then that’s one slick piece of tech.

    Oh god, this is starting to become really sad. They really should have seen this coming, and spent a few more months working on a proper SDK/better hardware.

    I’m also very surprised MS hasn’t stopped Kojima from releasing these shots.

    All it really shows is how good a job they’ve done on the last gen versions. They look great!

    Clearly higher texture res on next genconsoles.

    But are also the polygon models higher count and better effects ?

    Wow, last-gen shots are looking great! Obviously the PS4 version is the one to get if you can, but it’s cool that everybody is getting to play what looks like a fairly similar experience. :)

    I agree. PS3/360 versions look great in comparison.

    Mmm… Maybe this is not the place to say it, and I know MGS5 is too much for Vita and Im sure Konami finally didnt bet for Vita as they saw the handheld wasnt getting enough market. But I would like to hear something from Kojima after all these year claiming Kojima Productions´s works would go on Vita with Fox Engine, and Im not talking about Remote Play absolutely.

    I still waiting any words about the probably cancelled ZOE Collection Vita Edition.

    And so the resolution disparity continues. However like echoed the last gen shots don’t look that bad, of course current gen is the choice to pick but last gen shots stand up just as well.

    The difference between Nextgen & Currentgen is so miniscule. The PS4 has slightly better graphics than the 8 year old hardware…. it seems Moore’s Law really is coming to a close.

    @Diingo The reality is more than the game really isn’t any sort of powerhouse graphically.

    It has the usual Kojima visual polish, but everything still looks rather plasticy, and you can see fairly clearly where they cut corners, such as the scenery.

    MS customers only have themselves to blame for the shit hardware that’s been foisted on them this gen.

    MS KNOWS FULL WELL that you only look at the name and don’t bother doing any research into what actually is the better hardware.. I’m surprised you weren’t just sold a box of chicken bits and elastic bands.

    You won’t get leading hardware any more, MS know you’ll buy it anyway, so they thrown you any kind of garbage they want.

    You want better hardware? Trying say ‘No’ occasionally

    @Diingo

    Moore’s Law doesn’t apply to consoles, it never did.

    Moore’s Law refers to the innovation and evolution of the ORIGINAL product.. i.e the baseline chips and architecture. Consoles use existing technology or re-worked technology.. they aren’t in the market to evolve or innovate their tech.

    @Tormenter You do realize that MS didn’t choose lower specs just for the hell of it. They have some of the best hardware devs like Sony and BOTH console makers had to focus on their price target. MS research team had to come up with hardware that would stay below 500 bucks, be strong enough AND meet the multiple OS requirements for multi-media stuff.

    If anything, it was obviously the stupid mandate from higher ups / suits to focus on media-box that forced the hardware devs to use weaker specs.

    @The_Red

    That just reads like a company line, blah blah… reasons.

    MS knew what was expected, they knew how they’ve been marketing their games for years and where it was headed. Instead of making a console that did what the majority of gamers wanted… higher res, better performance but they filled it with COSTLY multimedia junk instead.. (which is ENTIRELY unsuitable for ANYWHERE else except America.. which means every non-American xbox180 purchaser is subsidising the AMericans getting a full service that they’ll NEVER get.)

    Anyway, if as you say, it’s about money, then why was Sony’s better performing HW CHEAPER than MS’s inferior HW?. How you can come out with a comment that excuses MS on those grounds is ridiculous.. The fact is that they weren’t concentrating on games this gen and because of that they used 2nd rate hardware (what is it 2 generations behind PC atm?). They knew it would be bought regardless. Had MS been a little less sure of their market they would have catered to it more.

    That’s one point Sony have, heads above MS, they DON’T take their customers for granted, they make each console the best that they can, doing as much for their customer while they can, whilst aiming at a particular goal… MS don’t give a toss about their customers and as far as they’re concerned will buy whatever is given to them. MS will do go where they want and people will just fall into line or do without.. and they WON’T do without.

    Like adding a subscription for online play, and still having multiple maintenance per month that disrupts the functionality of your console? Yeah, ok.

    @The_Red My seven year old PC can “do multimedia stuff”.

    “Like adding a subscription for online play, and still having multiple maintenance per month that disrupts the functionality of your console? Yeah, ok.”

    Come on now….Still badgering Sony for doing what MS does? As someone who paid for XBL since 2002, PS plus gives you much more value, and Sony doesnt place EVERYTHING worthwhile behind the paywall.

    The maintenance hasnt really bothered me yet so I can’t complain. I will say that MS did that a lot less frequently.

    I admittedly have neglected my PS4 because I have been playing mostly PC games,, but I am really looking forward to Infamous soon. I am trying to finish Black Flag before that comes out and may not make it, its a huge game.

    @The_Red It was an extremely stupid choice. PS3 was marketed the same way but they brought the horsepower and a Blu-Ray player for games that edged out 360 tech. In the end 360 has you installing a disk as an option to reduce times like the PS3 did. New sdk will come out on both systems but MS has an uphill battle because not all that power is going to the games but instead multiple OS and multitasking. Their plan was probably to rely on that cloud but not everywhere has that bandwidth so not all games would play equally. MS should have waited a year and streamlined the tech and find a better way to reduce the cost. MS jumped the gun on the 360 and it crashed and crashed but with no next gen competitors it still got a leg up for the first year. In the end Sony has nearly matched them in numbers.

    @Hcw87
    lol terrible arguments man. Those maintenances almost never interfered online MP. Thats because if you logged in frequently before those maintenances you can still play online.

    Except psn store and perhaps home are unavailable.

    Im still on current gen and MP is free. In other news I just subscribed to psn plus to get Metro Last Light and Bioshock Infinite.

    And omg metro last light is perhaps one of the best games I ever played when it comes to atmosphere. WOW! What a game. Next Bioshock hehe. Also I never played Borderlines 2 and it seems that game is hyped as fuck I might try it out.

    I heard on PS4 Outlast is free when you subscribe. XboxLive is so grand its worth to pay for MP thats what all those xbots kept telling to themselves.

    Hilarious…

    @Tormenter
    Again, the reason Sony’s cheaper hardware is performing better than MS’ more expensive one is because their expense has gone to OS and media stuff. Also, Sony really REALLY did take their consumers for granted during PS3 days (“Our fans must work extra jobs to pay for 600 dollar console” and all that).

    @Ireland Michael
    Tell that to MS execs who though spending millions on R&D for a console with 3 Operating Systems to focus on making a multi-media device for living room (Seriously though, I hear what you’re saying).

    @marporte I don’t think waiting a year would have benefited MS that much. Sure, they could have release a better and more prepared software and hardware package BUT losing a full year of sales to this opponent (PS4) could have been devastating.

    You really are that dumb? haha ok… poor xbone costumers their console can´t even run a game 1080p ffs and this is the NEXT generation! well I guess Xbox will always be 10 steps behind :)) PS4 any day all day :)
