The Evil Within's Mikami intrigued by Kinect and Xbox One's controller tech

The Evil Within's Shinji Mikami has said in the latest issue of OXM he is really interested in the possibilities of both Kinect and the rumble motors in Xbox One's triggers.

The Tango Gameworks boss seems particularly interested in how Kinect can capture facial expressions.

"If the new sensor is accurate enough to capture people's facial expressions, then we could be able to utilize it," said Mikami. "That's something I'd maybe like to use at some point."

While he said he doesn't have a specific idea for using the rumble in the Xbox One controller just yet, he feels it's a "new way to touch the player."

"I don't have a specific idea for that at the moment, but I should be able to utilize it," he said. "Fingers are very, very sensitive, so it's a good feature."

Knowing Mikami, whatever he eventually does with the tech, will probably delight his fans and fans of horror.

The Evil Within is coming to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014.
