I’m surprised they missed the train on aspects of the fundamental design.

I got Crimson Steam Pirates on iOS and I thought that was an awesome use of mechanics and interface, so I think it’s weird that they wouldn’t have the same feel for this one.

Stuff like not having a proper save feature – What the hell? Aren’t we way, way past crap like that?

Either way, I’m getting it, but it always sucks when great ideas get held back.

Damn it, no retail. Oh well. I think I’m doing something I usually never do; Pre-Order.

For the love of Light unlock already! I have to wait another day for the download. Why the Gods are so cruel?

@DSB well yeah checkpoint save system utterly sucks. It really really does. But I’m not gonna let that holding me back.

A group of friends and I are eagerly looking forward to this. It harks back to a time of better values. I think the interest piqued a little while ago when I was showing a lady friend some Shadowrun concept art, old and new, from the game, Shadowrun Returns, and Shadowrun Online.

what she immediately latched onto was that the orc ladies were as burly and stocky as the men, and that they actually dressed suitably for the job. This, of course, going by today’s honestly barbaric standards is amazing. Sometimes it astounds me how we’re going forward in some respects, but backwards in others.

But yes, this has always been one of my favourite genres. One unafraid to merrily mix magic and science-fiction. I love science-fantasy stuff, where just about anything can happen and the only thing that limits you truly is your imagination. And nothing else.

Gamma World is kind of like that, too. Man, I’d love to see a Gamma World toolkit game. Maybe one day…

Maybe a Metamorphosis Alpha game, failing that.

    Something just occurred to me.

This is going to result in a lot of people actually creating noir campaigns, which are more about solving mysteries than outright killing people. Since the Shadowrun setting is absolutely amazing for noir.

And my day just got a bit brighter, again.

@12: Just fucking buy it already. I’m not even past the character creation menu and I already know this was worth the money.

I haven’t played Shadowrun on the SNES in years but somehow the main theme reminds me of it. Is it a remix?

In any case, I’m not too familiar with the universe and I’m already kind of overwhelmed with all the options.

I’m very interested in the Shaman class, anyone got any advice?

^Street Samurai FTW, ’nuff said! :D ffs I’m not even at 50% yet this is going to be a very tormentingly slow download day. :<

@12: Guess you’re lucky then, the main campaign seems to be about solving a murder case.

Don’t we have some experienced Shadowrunner here?

I feel a bit ashamed that I got it via kick starter and forgot to kick the DL off, woops!

I think I paid for a decent tier so should get some lewt coming my way soon too. :)

I have to say I’m not hugely impressed with this so far and personally I don’t think this is worth more than £9.99 in its current state.

My main problem is there really doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of game. I’m leaving myself open to seeing what mods come out with but personally I think it’s a somewhat lacklustre effort considering a lot of the gameplay and mechanics are rather simple and that includes dialog, combat, skills and classes.

To me it feels like a “lite” version of a game or if I was to be harsh (which I think would be over doing it) an extended demo.
