Watch Dogs November 22 release date revealed, four editions available at launch

Monday, 29th April 2013 16:59 GMT By Nick Akerman

Ubisoft has confirmed Watch Dogs will be available worldwide on November 22. The North American release arrives on November 19, European users can pick it up on November 21, and the UK receives it on November 22. Players will be able to choose from four different versions that will include a variety of digital and physical goodies when the game arrives.

Are you ready for this? Deep breath. Consumers can tuck into the Dedsec Edition, Vigilante Edition, Uplay Exclusive Edition and the Special Edition. Phew. Wait a minute, each needs to be detailed.

Here’s what you’ll get in the Dedsec Edition (available at selected UK retailers):

-A 23cm Aiden Pearce Figurine
-Steelbook
-DedSec Collector box
-Watch_Dogs Artbook: artworks and illustrations that inspired the game
-Original soundtrack of the game
-Watch_Dogs map of Chicago
-Set of 4 collectible cards: discover Watch_Dogs iconic characters through augmented reality
-Set of 3 exclusive badges

Plus three single-player missions. These are called “Palace Pack” (police raid on a wealthy Internet mogul), “Signature Shot” (mysterious gun only works for the first person who uses it. STEAL THIS GUN), and “Breakthrough Pack” (Drive around Chicago intercepting scrambling devices). Each mission features a number of rewards.

The Vigilante Edition (available from GAME in the UK and Gamestop in Ireland)

-Vigilante Collector box
-Aiden Pearce’s cap
-Aiden Pearce’s mask
-Original soundtrack of the game

Plus the Palace Pack, as detailed above.

The Uplay Exclusive Edition can only be bought through Ubisoft’s Uplay website and features all three pieces of extra content, plus an exclusive steelbook. If you aren’t looking to spend extra on the goodies, the Special Edition features the Breakthrough Pack mission and can be bought from GAME in the UK.

Enough words, here’s a new trailer to round off the announcement:

Please don’t be like Assassin’s Creed, please don’t be like Assassin’s Creed, please don’t be like Assassin’s Creed.

Will take this date with a grain of salt. It’ll end up delayed if only a week or so.

Uh, this definitely looks very good. Let’s hope it’s as fun to play as it looks and doesn’t start an endless series of sequels.

looks good, but also looks quite like Assassin’s Creed.
((and it seems they were heavily inspired by Person of Interest tv series))

Also I can see it getting sequels every 2 years rather than every year, we will see.

$$$ (Triple dollar) games are getting worse. Most of them aren’t even good games.

And fuck Ubi-Soft, those guys are the European EA.

You won’t be able to control the environment like in Watch_Dogs which is what makes it unique.

Response to: how much freedom we get with watchdogs ? can we controll an airplane or chopper like GTA ? i don’t think so.

Firstly you can fly helicopters, ride jet skis and boats plus 65 licenced cars. Secondly certain buildings can be blown up like service stations with crafted IEDs. There is also random dynamicly created situations like robberies, murders etc you can interact with and foil or let happen. You can spy in on peoples homes and every person has a dynamic life cycle/back story not seen in any GTA games. So there is a reasonable amount of freedom in watchdogs, just might not be as many events things such as golf and tennis etc as in GTA V, but GTA V isn’t confirmed for next gen or PC either, watchdogs is. Besides GTA V and watchdogs will be different experiences and anyone who gets both gets the best of both worlds.
