The Evil Within trailer created by title-sequence veteran

Monday, 22nd April 2013 15:17 GMT By Stace Harman

Remember the unsettling live-action trailer that appeared last week to promote Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within? Of course you do; it was goose-bump-inducingly good. It turns out the reason that it was so effective is that it was directed by Kyle Cooper, a veteran director who has created “over 150 film title sequences”, including The Walking Dead, Se7en and American Horror Story.

The Evil Within is set for PC, 360, PS3 and next generation consoles in 2014. In case you’ve not yet seen the trailer, you can catch it through the break.

Se7en, now that was something. Come to think of it, Fincher films usually get superb title sequences (Fight Club, Se7en, Dragon Tattoo).

Ah, I did kinda get an American Horror Story vibe from it, explains it all. Brilliant job on the trailer.

I had a feeling it might be Cooper. He’s a master when it comes to creepy title sequences.

The website Art of the Title features some of his best work:

And of course, the equally creepy American Horror Story:

Fantastic series that everybody even with a little bit of love for Horror should check out.
