Fez Wii U port will only happen if Nintendo pays for it, says creator

Tuesday, 26th March 2013 10:31 GMT By Dave Cook

Fez creator Phil Fish has stated that his indie smash will only release on Wii U if Nintendo pays for a port.

Fish tweeted the above last night, following claims last week that he’d like Fez to hit every platform aside from 3DS. As it turns out, he’s not a fan.

Would you like to see Dez come to your format of choice? Let us know below.

Thanks Nintendo Life.

the reason fez isnt on nintendo platform isnt because i don’t like nintendo. it’s because of the insulting way they treated indies.”

Guy’s an idiot, he maybe should think about the ‘insulting’ way he treated 360 gamers with that massive bug rather than shoot his mouth off about Nintendo.

Isn’t that the same/similar offer Gearbox made so that Borderlands 2 can be ported for Vita?

You’d think that they would pay for it. It couldn’t be THAT expensive, and money is not something Ninty are lacking. Plus, Ninty is the home of the platformer and the puzzler, it’d suit them down to the ground…

This guy is an arse. If I remember correctly, there was a bug (rather game-breaking, might I add) that he didn’t fix as it would be “too expensive” and he just re-rolled a broken patch out. Its like he is just wanting the world to give him money on a silver plate.

@6 Look at the Wii U sales, I don’t think they have a abundance of money right about now. Businesses don’t tend to leave money laying around. It looks like Nintendo are in a bit of a rough spot at the minute. Sure they’ll get out of it, but it’s still a rough spot.

nintendo is going bankrupt as we speak. they cant even pay for a indie game anymore… that is how bad it have become. the failed wii-u will cost them the hw department of their company.

Given how insulting and abrasive Phil Fish went out of his way to be over his “Your games just suck” response to a Japanese designer and the fallout that followed..

..I’m really quite amused at him being offended at the “insulting way” Nintendo treated indies.

    Karma’s a bitch Mr. Fish.
