League of Legends concurrent player count hits 5 million

League of Legends now regularly exceeds 5 million concurrent players globally, Riot Games has announced. The last time the developer gave us an update, in October 2012, it was topping out at 3 million concurrent users, demonstrating some healthy growth for the world's most lucrative eSport MOBA. "Please have mercy on our servers," Riot noted, quite humbly.
