God of War: Ascension video introduces the Furies

Saturday, 1st September 2012 17:03 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

God of War: Ascension developers Sony Santa Monica has showed off one of the enemies Kratos will face when the game releases next year.

The Furies, female chthonic deities of vengeance, are “bound to Hell” in the game due to seeking retribution for only those the sisters “deemed guilty.” They hold in their hands a contract with Kratos which bounds his life with that of Ares – and we all know how that turned out in the first game.

At any rate, they are unhappy with the fact Kratos has broken the contract and his off doing his own bidding; therefore, they are seeking retribution and only his death will suffice, apparently.

See them in action for yourself below.

God of War: Ascension will release March 12 in North America, March 13 in Europe, March 14 in Australia and New Zealand, and March 15 in the UK.

Thanks, Gematsu.

I could start going on about how odd that the Furies would show up when you already fight Erinys in Ghost of Sparta, but I don’t feel like going into the whole three-fold goddess thing.

does anyone know if this game is supposed to be as epic and big budget like the previous games? theres no gods/titans in this game so im thinking this night just be like a blown up psp god of war title, where u do more puzzles and have more areas of fighting enemies, but less epic battles. Hopefully it would be great
