A Xenomorph gets shot in the face in these Aliens: Colonial Marines screens

Gearbox and SEGA have released four new screenshots for Aliens: Colonial Marines. Looking them over, you get to see a Xenomorph creeping through the ship, taking gunfire to the face – which it undoubtedly deserved – and you also get a look at the lobby. Head downward for a look. Game’s out in February next year for PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360.

I still think that this game is a really dull concept, to be honest. I always much preferred playing as the aliens. Absolutely nothing beats running on walls and hiding in shadows. Those mechanics were always an absolute blast.

If you focus on the marines, it’s just men with guns. And there are a bajillion-million games with those. It’s like having the potential for battenberg cake, but then being offered gruel.

As for a marriage of story and both unusual and fun gameplay mechanics, it seems like nothing is going to dethrone AvsP 2 for a while. Just as nothing is going to dethrone the original AvsP’s multiplayer.

(Also: Those guns look terribad. That gun needs to go on a diet if it wants to look like the guns used in the films.)

@1 You’ll get to play as the Xenomorph’s in multiplayer :)

I’m rather looking forward to this after seeing the recent footage, I just hope the singleplayer is fun. I also hope they add co-op :P
