Assassin’s Creed III, Ghost Recon: Final Mission outed for Vita

Monday, 28th May 2012 15:22 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Vita specific versions of Assassin’s Creed III and Ghost Recon are on their way to the system according to various retail listings.

Zavvi.com had listed Assassin’s Creed III on its website for a October 31 release alongside its PS3 and 360 brethren. Wii U and PC versions will launch afterwards.

The retailer has since pulled the listing from its site. Assassin’s Creed was previously confirmed for the system, but in what form hasn’t been disclosed.

Ghost Recon: Final Mission was listed by GAME.co.uk, but again, the listing was yanked.

Ghost Recon for Vita has never been actually announced, but an E3 unveil next week is definitely not out of the question.

Yes because unreleased games and a game that has never hit a console before means port….-_- seriously erth it was hard to take you seriously before. But it’s getting harder to take you seriously now.

    @2 Of *new* games.

I’m certainly not going to complain about being able to play Assassin’s Creed 3 on a handheld.

@3, because Assassins Creed 3 main platforms are PS3 and 360 for example.
Assassins Creed on the original PSP (which was called as the original title) was a cheap port from the first game with everything scaled down and of course, bad story and bad controls. It was more like a tech demo actually. Crappy one.

Ubisoft so far make only ports for the handheld systems.
The best launch game from third parties was Rayman Origins (Ubisoft) for the Vita which is a port from 360 and PS3 that had no co-op in the Vita version.

It’s not going to be any different with these titles. If you expect original game for the Vita from Ubi, i wish you good luck.

@5 Assassin’s Creed on the PSP was a separate game, on a device that wasn’t anywhere near as powerful as the format the originals were released on. It wasn’t a “port” of Assassin’s Creed 1 or 2.

Again, this is a “port” of a *new* game. Probably at the same time the home version is released. Not gonna complain about that.

Then your beef is not with Vita it’s with what the developer’s are offering us as consumers. Slandering the Vita isn’t going to get you anywhere because it appears as you are flaming the console. If the problem is with the developers offerings hit the right target and then your statements will become a bit more discuss-able.

Really now, power of psp and vita cant even be compared. If Erthazus want to call it a port, he can call it whatever the hell he wants. I call it a multiplatform release and vita bashers should now know that its the handheld that is capable of handling console games. But I guess nintendogs will be too busy playing “nintendogs + cats” on their 3DS (And I have to say, its an ORIGINAL game for 3DS ,not a port).

#10, i dont know to much about this, but the main target of the console should be established by the manufacturer of said console, and by this i mean the main focus of the console; with the vita the main focus is to have the same experience as with the console counterpart, that is sony decision, not developers, therefore instead of an original tittle that exploits the unique features and with the hanheld experience all along, the developers go with the same experience as consoles, and this was dictated by sony IMHO.

p.s And thats my main qualm with the vita, the consolitation of a handheld, which both are very different and the games should be very different also, tailored to the especifics of each one, not the hardware per se.
