Mass Effect 3 From Ashes DLC confirmed as special edition bonus
BioWare has confirmed the existence of the From Ashes DLC after someone at Microsoft pushed a button ahead of schedule. Spoilers ahead.

“We’re happy to confirm that Mass Effect 3: From Ashes DLC will be available at launch for all platforms,” BioWare’s Michael gamble wrote on the BioWare Social Network.
“For those of you who have purchased the N7 Collector’s Edition (including the PC Digital Deluxe Edition), you will get this content at no extra charge. We’ll have a lot more details for you later this week! Stay Tuned!”
The pack and its contents were briefly visible on the Xbox Live Marketplace, where Kotaku got a good look at it, discovering that the pack includes a new party member – a Prothean. The existence of a Prothean – a race thought extinct for millennia – was first revealed by diligent unpacking of the demo’s files, unearthing some of the character’s dialogue.
The significant nature of the content included in the pack has raised ire among some fans concerned that the standard edition of the game is not complete, and that a DLC purchase will be necessary on top of the base price in order to own the whole game.
The DLC’s title is strongly reminiscent of that which reportedly turned up at retail last week for $10.
Mass Effect 3 is due in early March, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

*SPOILERS* **SPOILERS* *SPOILERS* *SPOILERS* *SPOILERS* *SPOILERS*In my opinion this is complete bull, to restrict the Prothean DLC for only N7 collectors or the digital deluxe, or forcing you to pay the extra $10, is completely immoral. The Protheans are a KEY plot point in the whole fargin series! To have such a key person restricted to those who are willing to pay an extra $2o for the collectors edition or $10 for the DLC on launch day is bogus. Frankly I don’t know if i’m going to buy the game now, this is defiantly boycott worthy. If they change this idea to it being a code for anyone who buys a new copy of the game then its will be alright, but to deny such a key person and their back story is just wrong.

@4
GO read the leak script he is not a critical character. He is infact a Kasumi 2.0 and is not pivotal to the game at all. All the prothean stuff was solved in the last game. He is just a flavor character.

I have to pay another £30.00!!! Thats $47.00 more. I am not impressed with bioware, Recall it NOW!!! I have waited for months for this game and you have completely ruined it for me. Give us a code,but I am not paying $141.00 dollars to get a game play we all rightfully deserve for free.
