Analyst – GTA V will outsell the next Call of Duty
EEDAR’s Jesse Divnich has tipped Rockstar to end Call of Duty’s three year streak at the top of the annual charts.

“It goes without saying that GTA V will be one of the year’s biggest releases, but I will take it one step farther and say GTA V will be 2012′s biggest release,” the analyst told IndustryGamers.
“Don’t get me wrong, Call of Duty will undoubtedly be huge, as it is every year and it may even grow, but if I had to call what will be a photo finish race, I will go with GTA V.”
Grand Theft Auto IV has shifted over 22 million copies worldwide in the three years since its launch. That said, each of the three most recent Call of Duty releases – 2009′s Modern Warfare 2, 2010′s Black Ops, and 2011′s Modern Warfare 3 – have set entertainment launch records, outselling not just games but films, books and music.
Grand Theft Auto V was formally announced in November, although beyond the first trailer, Rockstar won’t tell us anything.
Thanks, Gamefront.

At least GTA deserve to sell well, unlike CoD.

Hmmm, yeah, I doubt it too. Considering they seem pretty intent on continuing with the same format as the last game I’m not really interested at all. GTAIV was one of those love/hate games and I think a lot of the “hate” people (if they’re like me anyway) will only be partly interested.
“Serious” GTA is boring.

Does Jesse want to put his money where his mouth is ? Cause I’d bet every cent I have that GTA will sell maybe half as much as COD … if they are lucky.
