Uncharted series sells 13 million, says Sony

Surely the large potion of this is Uc3. 3.8 mill in its first day, sales must be up to about 5/6 mill by now? which leaves the other 2 with 7 mill to split between them.

And imo the spike in sales for Uc3 is definitely down to Sony’s new marketing campaign. Making great games simply isnt enough, you need to show the public these great games. And thats what there they are FINALLY doing
And just recently Sony’s ads are fucking A*

Saw one of them the other day for a bundle of ps3,uc3,fifa12,gt5 and Bf3 for £260 i think it was?

Which actually divides the whole 13 mill up pretty evenly between the 3 games meaning Uc3 at the moment has caught up with the total sales of the first 2 After only a month on sale, so theres still a spike in sales for Uc3 compared to the first 2.

I think a lot of that comes down to marketing. Gears was the 360′s first ‘killer app’ and MS marketed it everywhere. Cinemas, tv, radio, newspapers. I don’t remember seeing Uncharted marketing, on such a grand scale, in the UK around it’s release.

@7 Everything Sony says or releases about sales is always sold to retailers.

Good numbers nonetheless, the franchise deserves every bit of em.

Pretty good and only going to get better I guess as that only included the initial launch for Uncharted 3 so the final tally for all three should be a fair bit more when all is said and done.

Well deserved. Great series. I found U3 pretty dull until after the Chateau then it just became loads of fun. Very enjoyable indeed. Let’s hope the series sells another 13 million.

I have an Android, mostly because of my carrier, but I’m not sure if I would go with an iPhone or not if I had the choice. I really don’t use my phone for much aside from calls.
