That IGN review is ridiculous.

Is it just me or is IGN has become selectively too generous lately (Even by its own low standards)? I mean both Uncharted 3 and Skyward Sword are probably great games but two perfect 10s!? Really? The only game in this gen that at least in my humble opinion deserved a 10 was Demon’s Souls (Not even Dark Souls which is kind of a step back in some regards).

@ 9 – both games may have received a perfect score but after reading that Zelda review you would think they meant to give it a 12 out of 10. IGN review scores are about as consistent as a schizophrenics thoughts.

@10 I’m not saying IGN is the only one handing out 10s. The problem is that neither review mentions any flaw which I’m sure any game has. Sites like GameCritics or Eurogamer at least sometimes try to be fair and consider weaknesses in a great game or positives in a bad game. IGN is treating some games in black & white.

@11 – I totally agree, I guess the point I was making didn’t come across. What I meant to say was that if both games were perfect, one would assume that the reviews would be some what consistent with one and other.

The Zelda review, however, seemed to go above and beyond that. The guy basically gushed like a school girl for 4 pages and 5 minutes of video. I didn’t get that same sense of extreme fanboyism with the UC3 review.

The IGN review did praise the game but I don’t think it read as one from a fanboy since it clearly described the reasons for the praise. Even the ‘negative’ review from Giant Bomb reads very positively for the game.

IGN is shit, i very rarely believe any score they give.

Ain’t ever been interested in a Zelda game for a very long time, bit too boring and samey for me.
