Rhinehart: Prey 2 could be “enhanced” for PC

Human Head project lead Chris Rhinehart has said the studio’s currently looking at ways to “enhance” the PC version of Prey 2.

“We are looking into anything special we can do for PC users,” Rhinehart told Rock, Paper, Shotgun at Eurogamer Expo.

“No announcements yet as to what that may or may not be, but we are looking into different ways that we can enhance the PC side.”

He also re-confirmed a simultaneous release on all three platforms – PS3, 360 and PC – for next year, although refused to get specific on a date.

Rhinehart further touched upon the game’s setting of Exodus, where the planet has one side facing the sun, one facing away from it and somewhere in-between, enabling hot, cold and middle-ground areas.

“The reason we do that is to offer variety, breaking up where the player goes but it’s not a case of being here, then here, then here; the narrative weaves through all those levels,” he said.

“So I go to the bright side and then I’ll come back to the Bowery, based on the narrative. But just because you leave the Bowery, that doesn’t mean you can’t come back to the Bowery at any point. It’s not a case of leaving an area and then being locked out of it. If you want to go back and explore, you can totally do that as well.”

    I hope this is true,i will pray for this in order to avoid some PC gamers fanatics go with the line “thanks to consoles we get another dumbed down experience”

    @1: I’d lol, since the gameplay of the previous Prey wasn’t deep at all.

    They should definitely take a look at how Rocksteady Studios does their Job when it comes to PC Versions. DX11 and PhysX would be a start.

    But in this time and age, i’m just happy to get a good performance out of it.

    Statement stinks of a port job.

    If the PC version needs “enhancements” that cries out made for console. If it had been built with PC in mind and cascaded down to console this would not be an issue.

    DX11? Steamworks? Comprehensive advanced graphics settings? Achieve those and it’ll stand out as “Not a Port”.

    Removing framerate caps, and allowing full keyboard customization, would be a good start.

    Oh these sound like simple things I know, but the amount of recent ports I see without them lately is frankly frightening.
