New Arma 3 shots – Planes, plains and automobiles

Four new shots of military-sim Arma 3 have surfaced on the Bohemia Interactive forums.

The shots were accompanied by a note to keep an eye on developer David Foltyn’s Twitter feed for further reveals ‘soon’.

Arma 3 is a PC exclusive, scheduled for release in summer 2012 and will offer “a unique sandbox-style combat gameplay experience in the most detailed environment of the series to-date,” according to the game’s official website.

Thanks, Vastluck.

All this is useless if it plays like the previous ArmA games.

Yeah, it actually does more harm than good.

90% of ArmA is the modding community, and they’re either set back or forced to start from scratch with every game. For whatever reason, Bohemia never work with backwards compatability, in spite of using an extremely simple config system, so just focusing on graphics and physics rather than gameplay is simply not the way to go. Especially while the AI is the same as it was in Operation Flashpoint, with minor tweaks.

ArmA 2 doesn’t feel very optimized as it is, so it’s entirely the wrong way to go. I can understand a small company needing to push games out to survive, but if you look at what a small team like Battlefront have done with Combat Mission, that’s infinitely more impressive. And it actually simulates combat, as opposed to ArmA.

@ Erthazus

It is a F-22 Raptor!

There only one thing about ARMA 3 for me: I hope it has only about 10% of the bugs ARMA 2 still has. Btw. that means 100% too many bugs for a game ;)
