Arma 3: Apex is finally here.

New Arma 3 expansion Apex is out now - as evidenced by the lovely launch trailer above.

The big draw of the Apex expansion is the new location, Tanoa. To keep you busy in this 100 km² of South Pacific terrain, you'll have 13 weapons, ten vehicles, a co-op campaign and new forces to play with.

Even if you don't buy into Apex, you'll need to update Arma 3 today to grab Game Update 1.62, which overhauls the main menu, adds vehicle in vehicle transport, polishes up the revive system and enhances environmental audio, Standalone it weighs in at 1.5GB; with Apex you're looking at a 9.6GB download (assuming you've been grabbing all the updates of the last few months and have those ready to go).

You'll want to get that going as soon as possible, then - but listen, before you do: visit the Arma 3 dev site. The latest update includes the full patch notes but also a bunch of really useful tips for maintaining your system and your game client when installing something this significant - especially if you use mods.
