Ubisoft has released a trailer showing off Gunsmith, the Kinect integration for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, and at the end of it, it says the title is out in March 2012.

Yesterday, Ubisoft sent out an updated release schedule, which highlighted AC:Revelations, The Cartel, and listed Ghost Recon for Q1 2012. March is in Q1, so we’re good.

Anyway, the video shows a fella building and taking apart weapons with the wave of his hand and using voice commands.

It also shows off the ability to look at different customization options such as clips, stocks, and pretty colors. You can also rotate the weapon various degrees to look at it from all angles.

Weapons can also be tested in the virtual firing range which is exclusive to the Gunsmith weapon editor.

Watch it a see for yourself.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be released during Q1 2012, and the beta is expected for early next year.

He does seem to have a much higher precision in the aiming than you do with a regular controller. Now if this will end up in the actual campaign is a different matter. I’d love to have some controller gameplay that is further augumented by kinect. What they (MS) should have though is a simple navigational controller for kinect with a few buttons and an joystick.

Anyone who’s ever used Kinect, even for a few minutes, will tell you that it’s nowhere near precise/fast enough to be used for aiming in any serious gameplay at all.

@9 or with PS Move and Sharpshooter. At least you feel you are holding something resembling a weapon

I thought the voice commands are cool, but that could have been done without Kinect if the developers had tried. And there is no way that this is worth buying Kinect for.
