Sony and Overkill announce PAYDAY: The Heist

Sony and Overkill Software have released screenshots for PAYDAY: The Heist, a new FPS to be released via the PlayStation Network.

The game has you playing as a "hardened career criminal" looking for his next big score. You can choose between the specialties assault, sharpshooter or support and will be able to earn weapons and equipment that fit your "preferred for of violence" and the ability to unlock trip mines, silenced pistols, machine guns and more.

You will have three "partners in crime" controlled by either AI or friends via co-op multiplayer as you traverse the game map on a hellbent crime spree through six different which include: bank robberies, prisoner extractions, and armored car hijackings.

The game boasts "dynamic environments, adaptive enemy behavior, shifting entry points, FBI agents repelling down on ropes through the skylights, SWAT teams crashing through the windows and special units crawling through the ventilation shafts makes each play-through of every heist a unique fight."

PAYDAY: The Heist will be officially unveiled at E3 next week. Enjoy the screens.
