THQ has announced pre-order incentives for its Warhammer 40K RTS title, Dawn of War II – Retribution as well as a collector’s edition of the game.

The CE will give players access to all of the available bonus Wargear for each of the six playable races in the game, a poster,  and six race art cards all wrapped-up in a collector’s box for $39.99, which is only available to North American gamers through the THQ store.

Those who prefer a particular race allegiance can instead pre-order one of the six available race packs for $29.99, which is the same price of the standard game. Each race pack includes four “unique ability and Wargear items” which can be used during the single-player campaign.

The Ork Race Pack is exclusive through Steam, and the Tyranid Race Pack exclusive through the THQ Store. The Space Marine, Chaos Space Marine, Eldar and Imperial Guard race packs are also available for pre-order through both outlets along with other digital distribution sites.

Race Packs are only available for electronic distribution and are only available for as an incentive at the pre-order stage, so once the game is released, it will cost you the normal pack fee through Steam.

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II – Retribution is slated for release on March 1.

We’ll mail THQ and see if Europe and the UK can get in on the same offers.

Awesome, went into EB Games (Australia) today, they have the collectors edition available for preordering.
Hope Relic has vastly improved on The Last Stand, i actually enjoyed that more than anything else in DoW2, i think the general Multilayer is shit compared to the classic, Soulstorm is definitely in my top 5 most played games of all time along Timesplitters 2 & Star Wars Battlefront.

Steam says it’s out on March 4th, so this is gonna be the EU release date.
Of course I’ll do my duty as an Imperial subject and get the Collector’s Edition from wherever I’ll find it.

Sorta, from THQ only then since GameStar and PC Gamer US already featured a preview of the IG.

@5 Sort of. They still have to release the full campaign heroes and multiplayer details, and I believe they won’t do that before they post the Chaos ones, for I believe many Chaos fanboys would get mad if they did.

    Damn heretics.
