Dawn of War 3 open beta starts today, and this launch trailer should get you excited

Dawn of War 3's launch trailer is cryptic, but you won't be waiting long to get your hands on it.

Relic and Sega have released the Dawn of War 3 launch trailer early, reminding everyone of the main crux in the story.

Titled Fragments of War, the trailer teases the inevitable conflict between the three factions: Space Marines, Eldar, and Orks. All of them are vying for control of the Spear of Khaine, though the trailer thankfully doesn't reveal much beyond what's already been said.

There's a tiny bit of gameplay footage in here, but it's not the focus. We do see some of the action in the stylised background, though.

Reviews for Dawn of War 3 have been largely positive thus far. We also reviewed it and felt it satisfies fans of classic RTS gameplay while introducing new, more modern mechanics.

If you're looking to get a taste of how the game plays, the multiplayer beta starts today at 6pm UK, 10am PT. You can download it directly from Steam. The beta runs until Monday, April 24.

Dawn of War 3 releases April 27 on PC.
