Alpha Protocol – Meet Scarlet Lake, boys

Obsidian has released another Alpha Protocol video focusing on characters in the game.

It’s below the break, courtesy of D’toid.

This one, is for Scarlet Lake. She’s a journalist who wears low-cut shirts and has hair to match her name.

Watch your back, Agent Thorton. She seems a bit shady.

Game’s out May 28 and June 1 in Europe and the US, respectively.

As much as I like the idea of this game – espionage RPG – I just can’t get over how rubbish the character models look. Seriously, it looks like a good PS2 game circa 2004.

At least she is nice looking for a videogame character, can’t say the same about that Russian femme fatale or whatever. But i don’t see this game being real good.

As hyped up this game has been I can’t believe how awful it looks. Saw a commercial for it last night and the game just looks like total shit.

Well whatever happens, I’ll be giving this a try. Obsidian haven’t made an RPG, that I’ve played that wasn’t enjoyable. Although I’ll be getting the PC version, not the sucky slow framerate console versions .

There’s nothing particularly wrong with Alpha Protocol’s graphics. The art design is a bit bland but the character models are serviceable, if obviously not up to FFXIII (or even ME2) standards. People need to get their graphics whoring in check and start asking the relevant questions; is this game going to be another clunky Mass Effect 1-style affair or is it actually going to be fun?

Obsidian said months ago that there is an achievement for romancing all four love interests in the game. So yes, there’s another.
