Cage: Comments that Heavy Rain’s nothing but a QuickTime Event are “absurd”

Quantic Dream’s David Cage has said, once again, that claims of Heavy Rain being nothing but a playable series of QuickTime events is “absurd”.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Cage said that all scenes involving a QTE are balanced and just like ones experienced with Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit).
“You control your character second to second,” he explained. “Then, when there is an action scene, we go to this [QuickTme] interface.
“The balance is the same as in Fahrenheit. No more, no less.”
Guess that nips that complaint in the bud then. More through the link.

So you get to walk from quick time event to quick time event?
I’m not complaining really, I still love Shenmue and I don’t have a problem with QTEs in any game.

Why doesn’t him just make them cutscenes so we can lay back and watch, MGS4 has hour long cutscenes and got lots GOTY

@5 Then it would be a movie and not a game.
I am not complaining I loved Indigo Prophecy even with the bugs and all the QTE.

If they changed the shape of the pad, added some rock music and instead of the normal Playstation buttons had colours do you think people would mind less? Coz, you know; Masking QTE’s like that has worked in the past…

God of War anyone?
Infact most action platformers and even FPS are using QTEs now and a good majority of them have gotten rave reviews.
