LittleBigPlanet now has 2 million user-generated stages, Sony boss Kaz Hirai just said in his TGS keynote.

Players would need to spend six hours a day for 29 years to play every one, said the exec.

Hit this for the rest of the news from Hirai’s speech.

I’ve played it quite a bit at my brother-in-law’s house. It’s good! But… I really don’t like any of the user levels I’ve played. The built-in ones crap all over them.

Still leaves 10,000 though don’t it. Even the garbage ones the creator had fun making – which is more to the point.

Maybe it’s just the levels that my brother-in-law downloads. :-D

They added a better search/rating system but the real gems are found through trusted “hearted” lists. E.g. The creator Geosautus is very good – but aside from looking just at their levels also check which ones he likes – then check those creators other levels and their likes etc.

My other point was more that it really doesn’t matter if the end result of your level creating is rubbish. What matters is whether you enjoyed doing it (the act of creating). Playing games and having fun is what it’s all about.
