Activision will delay StarCraft 2 into 2010, says analyst

Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has predicted that Activision will delay the release of Starcraft 2 into 2010 instead of shipping it in October 2009.

Bhatia expects the game to sell around three million copies with a 2010 release being a positive thing for the company, despite the missing the holiday shopping season.

Activision had no comment regarding a Stracraft date, however, it was announced yesterday that Singularity would be pushed into 2010 to make way for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

More over on TeamLiquid.

Ive never said this before about a blizzard game but I’d bet that SC2 will definitely be released this year. Instead of pushing it back like they may have previously they can just hire more ppl to get shit done faster.

Well a delay wouldn’t come as a shock either…it is blizzard after all! Of course I doubt they have devs from the original blizz working on the COD game or even the other way around…so based on COD getting focus I can’t see why it would directly hold back SC2.

Just a cheap shot (because I can!): I do hope it gets delayed even longer and I hope that it reduces interest in the game a little more so that maybe they’ll then reconsider LAN!

Actually come to think of it (I’ve never played the COD games) – do they include support for LAN?

I don’t think I care about Blizzard anymore. They’ve turned into a right bunch of dicks.

/waits till games are released and stealthy picks them up in shame
