Bizarre: Blur is “adult Mario Kart”
It may not have red shells, but Bizarre Creations’ Blur owes more than a little to Mario Kart, the company’s admitted.
“The PR people don’t really let me say this but Blur is like an adult Mario Kart,” Blur dev boss Ben Ward told Develop.
“It’s what you want from the next-generation of karting games.”
Blur’s out later this year for PC, PS3 and 360. There’s an interview here.

Didn’t get much of a ‘buzz’ for this one from E3. Everyone was talking Forza/GT5 or Split/Second, nobody seemed to be talking Blur.

I’m not sure about this. Looks a bit dull, but I do like the PGR games. Split/Second seems the more exciting of the two arcade racers, though.

they should’ve gone with made-up cares like split/second. most real cars look boring as fuck from behind.
also, polish the graphics some more and I will be there day one.

It’s kinda pathetic when a dev comes out saying “this is Mario for adults”, “This is Halo for Wii”, “this is Zelda for trans”. It seems to me like they want to point out their games have nothing in common with the kiddyz, and at the same time they go all name-dropping just to try to rake some money from some idiot who actually gets persuaded by their words
