I think it all made sense. And it will only be for a contract, so if you’re that butthurt, I expect it will eventually come to the PS3.

Was that ever confirmed? The amount I mean. In fact, where did the rumour come from? I can’t remember.

That wasn’t a rumour, there was somethgin from Take Two wasn’t it?

It was for 2 sets of DLC and probabaly to make the game multiplatform. Who knows really, I am just speculating, but the two $25 mil were confirmed.

It’s interesting to see how many people are still considering this to be a ‘timed exclusive’. I really don’t think this one is ever making it to the PS3. Or the next one.

Can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t make it to the PC version, though. If anyone’s actually managed to get the PC version running yet.

If that was for those DLC packs exclusively, I’d say you’re right, but I have a feeling they are not.

Why else would they give them $50million? I know they probably have it kicking around the office in loose change, but…

I wonder what would have happened to Take-Two (and obviously Rockstar) had MS not stepped in with that $50m loan. At the time they were in serious financial difficulties and widely considered to be one step away from administration.

Take Two would have had to sell some IP’s or developers. The ‘baggage’ of the company.

Blerk, I expect coming from the PS2 days, there were some contractual agreements that could have been settled with about $50mil. I don’t think that is for the DLC alone.

That’s what I speculate anyway.

And it’s never like GTA has been totally exclusive to anything, I expect if Take-Two own the rights to that contents, that it will eventually come to the PS3, when it’s completely irrelevant. (So still, GRRR buy your feckign 360, grrrr )

iirc, Rockstar have said several times that the first two bits of DLC are exclusive, but anything after that is potentially anyone’s. I’ve no idea when even the second bit is supposed to be releasing, though – I can’t imagine it’ll be for at least six months. Which would make it at least a year before we see anything else… if there is anything else. You’d have thought they’d have been hard at work wrapping up the next ‘proper’ GTA by then.

I am sure that the DLC is not done by a whole team, especially given the fact they aren’t adding landmass, nor many more objects.

For that reason, the DLC can be as late as it needs to be. Especially if it does well on XBL.
