Singstar backwards compatibility launching tomorrow
Sony’s confirmed that, as of tomorrow, Singstar’s PS2 discs will be compatible with the PS3 version.
The feature’s being added as a downloadable update.

Singstar is pretty funny. tried it for the 1st time on saturday. its hilarious when you do the playback with a chipmunks voice(even funnier when your kinda drunk haha)

Why can’t we install the songs? As a matter of fact, how come we can’t install the PS3 Singstar songs? Rock Band did it, how hard can it be? Disc swapping is so 1990′s.

So… All models of PS3 can do this? Those this open the door for many individual titles being backwards compatible?

No. It’s not a PS2 emulator, they’ve just enabled Singstar PS3 to read the files on the PS2 discs.

I see, pity but still sweet for those with old Singstar discs. As for the software emulator that some models got, I’ve always wondered is it something they can just reintroduce again by means of software.
