Singstar has been announced for release on PS4 later this year, and Game Director Chris Bruce has revealed that players will be able to use their smartphone as a microphone.
Over on the PS Blog, Bruce reminded us all of how old we are by saying that Singstar turned ten yesterday. Sigh.
But don't despair, because Singstar is coming to PS4 later this year along with the free companion app. It means you won't have to shell out for microphones and muck about with wires and the likes. It's compatible with the PS3 version as well, and works with both phones and tablets, although singing into a chunky old-gen iPad might look a bit daft.
He added, "We’re also working hard to optimize the social experience of SingStar by making it even easier to share the best bits of your night on Twitter and Facebook straight from the game.
"With an improved scoring system you can also build up your XP and get rewarded for game activity, or challenge your friends online and entertain them with your renditions of your favorite songs."
Get planning your boozy karaoke night now people.
