RIFT troubled by European server woes, world event extended

Trion Worlds has been forced to extend the River of Souls world event after problems with European servers left players unable to participate fully.

The first phase of the River of Souls event was intended to end on April 9, but has now been extended until April 16. Phase two will accordingly be delayed.

Additionally, the amount of in-game currency earned for participation has been increased, with more purchasable rewards added.

No explanation was given beyond a forum post mentioning "several issues that only came to light in a live server environment".

RIFT released at the beginning of March, with players totting up a staggering 4,000 years of playtime in the first month.

Thanks, Massively.
