Whether Mortal Kombat X will contain microtransactions or not remains to be seen, as NetherRealm Studios isn't ready to discuss such matters at present.

Speaking with IGN at a recent Mortal Kombat X event, the studio's marketing manager Brian Goodman he had nothing to say on the possible feature.

"We are not releasing any details on that yet," he said. "Nothing to say about microtransactions yet."

IGN feels microtransactions could be incorporated in relation to Koins, which are in-game currency. Such a feature could allow players to buy packs of Koins instead of earning them through gameplay.

Previous games included the Krypt, the tombs of which could be unlocked using Koins to obtain costumes, fatalities, and other goodies.

Mortal Kombat X releases worldwide on April 14 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
