Doom Eternal gets a new trailer, a release date, and a new multiplayer mode detailed at E3

Doom Eternal is looking pretty wild - and now we know exactly when we'll be wading knee deep in the dead (again).

Doom Eternal is due to release on PC, Xbox One, Switch and PS4 on November 22, and is playable at E3 this year.

There are two major videos out of E3. First up, we've got the official story trailer, which revels in the game's weird and intense biblical imagery.

Gameplay footage shown during the longer Bethesda conference showed off the game's bright, flashy UI, its myriad of collectibles, and just how intense the action will be.

There's a new multiplayer mode too - Battlemode pits two player-controlled demons against a single player-controlled Slayer to see who comes out on top.

Bethesda also announced a big fancy special edition, which comes complete with a wearable Slayer helmet (this tweet also casually reveals the existence of story DLC, which the original did not receive).

In any case, it looks like more Doom - if you enjoyed the last one, it's looking like a more intense, more videogame-y take on the same concept. Should be good.
