Dead Space 2's "friendly fire" multiplayer option has sparked controversy with Germany's strident anti-violence policies and delayed the game into February.
Ripten writes that EA has announced a new German release date of February 3 following a long wrangle over Dead Space 2's rating.
Visceral will use the breathing space to remove friendly fire from the game's multiplayer modes in compliance with the ruling of German authorities.
The single-player campaign remains as is.
