Aliens: Fireteam Elite reviews round-up, all the scores

Aliens: Fireteam Elite gets review for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S are here – but is the latest Alien game actually any good?

Aliens: Fireteam Elite the co-op shooter from Cold Iron, launches very soon. But can the game break the curse that's afflicted so many Alien games since the original movie launched back in 1979 and actually be, y'know, good?

So far, scores are coming in mixed – some outlets think the game is an OK shooter, but that it doesn't make the most of the IP (and that's not an uncommon criticism of games in the franchise, either).

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is out August 24 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and – oddly for a co-op game - does not come with cross-play support.

On the upside, at least, PS4 players will be able to play with PS5 friends, and Xbox users will be able to enjoy the game between generations, too – just don't expect to be able to play with your PC mates or those on rival console platforms if you're eager to team up and shoot Xenomorphs.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite offers four story-driven campaigns that you can play through, and gives you customizable Colonial Marines to deploy against the Xenomorph threat. But – as you can see from the mostly middling scores below – that doesn't appear to be enough to impress the critics around the world.
