The Division 2 will feature an additional customization system when it releases in March.
Massive Entertainment is adding Brand sets to The Division 2, which lay the foundation for better build diversity and gear customization.
Brand sets work similar to clothing in real life: Guess, Ralph Lauren, Members Only, you get it. Unlike real life, wearing multiple pieces of a certain brand will unlock very important bonuses. While this may sound similar to how gear sets work in The Division 1, Brand sets are not the same as gear sets.
The feature is woven into every aspect of the game, and players will have access to Brands right from the start.
While each piece of a certain band worn will provide a bonus, if you have three sets of gear slotted that are of the same brand, you’ll get additional bonuses. Some of the brand pieces will also roll with certain talents, which means you may end up preferring a particular brand depending upon the talent you’re after.
So, while gear sets will be returning with The Division 2, with Brands, you’ll have an addition set of sorts.
The video from Arekkz takes a look at all the Brand sets we know of so far, and he provides you with plenty of information on how the new system works.
Set in Washington, DC this time out, the sequel features new specializations, a better loadout menu, the addition of settlements, eight-player raids, looting quality-of-life improvements, and much more.
The Division 2 releases on March 15 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
