While you wait for Kingdom Come: Deliverance to be fixed, check out this indie roguelite with realistic sword fighting

Elium - Prison Escape is an indie action rougelite designed around one particular mechanic: realistic sword fighting.

Elium's combat can be experienced in first or third-person, and a new gameplay video shows that it has a lot in common with Kingdom Come: Deliverance. In fact, realistic sword fighting mechanics are one of the main selling points of Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Unfortunately, since Deliverance seems to be having all kinds of issues now - most recent of which being an unresponsive R2 attack button - you may want to hold off a bit. At least until after the big promised patch - which is around two weeks away - is released.

The setup for Elium is pretty simple. You'll be running through procedurally generated dungeons as you gradually make your way through a prison. It's not shooting for an ambitious, yet unrealistic scale or anything. Along the way, you'll be equipping new weapons and pieces of gear.

But the main thing is obviously the combat, which as you see in the trailer below, is based on directional input, parries and blocks. There's also a stealth system that is, again, not dissimilar to Kingdom Come: Deliverance's.

Check out the trailer below, and the game's Steam page for more.
