Games with Gold: Zombi and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3 join Xbox Games with Gold for January 2018

Four new games are joining the Xbox Games with Gold program in January, including The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3 and Zombi on Xbox One, as well as Tomb Raider: Underworld and Army of Two for 360.

Van Helsing is available from now until Jan 31 2018, while Zombi is available from January 16 until February 15. Army of Two is also available from January 16, but only until January 31. You can grab Tomb Raider: Underworld for the first two weeks of the month, from now until January 15 2018.

These games join Telltale Games’ Back to the Future: The Game, which was added to Games with Gold in December, but is still available until January 15.

The final part of the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing trilogy of ARPGs will feel familiar to fans of the Diablo series, with plenty of demons to smash, skill trees to sift through and loot to hoard. The skill systems have been streamlined compared to the second Van Helsing game, but there’re plenty of new classes to compensate, like the exoskeleton-wielding Phlogistoneer and stealth-based Umbralist.

Zombi is a first-person survival horror with elements of permadeath. Instead of playing as some legendary chosen one, you take control of one of many survivors of a zombie outbreak searching for a cure, and if you die, you have to pick up with someone new. Set in London, the dark underground rail network and dilapidated buildings make for an creepy and atmospheric experience, and wading into a scrap swinging a cricket bat is a lot of fun too.
