As promised, Blizzard has released its fifth animated short for Overwatch, The Last Bastion.

According to the description, the short explores the origin story of the “inquisitive transforming robot” Bastion, which has reactivated after decade of dormancy.

Upon waking from this peaceful repose, the battle automaton begins investigating his surrounding, and discovers its core combat programming “may have a different directive.”

Earlier this week at gamescom 2016, Blizzard revealed the new Eichenwalde, which is set in a German castle. It will be released in September.

The firm also announced various characters will be tweaked, new emotes were revealed, and the developer is also having fun with players acting boastful after winning a match.

All of the changes and additions to the online shooter are currently available on the PTR.
