Street Fighter 5: Chun Li moves list
Chun-Li is a diverse character – she has a fireball, and thus ranged and zoning options for keeping an opponent at distance, but also boasts several unique normal moves and other skills that make her deadly up-close. She’s relatively speedy, and also has an air-throw. Like Ryu, she offers balance, but is a little more difficult to immediately get into thanks to a variety of unique normal moves and charge command moves.
V-Skill: Rankyaku (MP, MK Simultaneously)
Chun-Li jumps low and forward at a 45 degree angle – much more aggressive than the standard jump. It can be used to press in on opponents.
V-Trigger: Renkiko (HP, HK Simultaneously when V-Trigger Gauge is full)
Chun-Li’s special moves and normal attacks are buffed significantly when in this mode. Many attacks now do two hits, or deal more damage or stun, until the V-Trigger Gauge is depleted.
Warning: Chun-Li has some Charge Moves. If you want to know how to better use these moves, check the Charge Moves section of our main guide.
Kikoken (Charge: Back – Forward + Punch)
Chun-Li unleashes a fireball that travels across the screen. The button used determines how much it hurts and how far it travels – using heavy punch will mean it hits hard but doesn’t travel far, while light punch will do less damage but travel almost full screen. An EX version is available, and the move significantly powers up during V-Trigger.
Hyakuretsukyaku (Quarter Circle Forward + Kick)
Better known as ‘Lightning Legs’, Chun-Li unleashes a flurry of kicks at your opponent. The Light Kick version hits 4 times, Medium 5, and Heavy 6. You can now also perform this move in the air. An EX version is also available.
Spinning Bird Kick (Charge: Down – Up + Kick)
Chun-Li turns upside down and spins like, well, er, a helicopter. The heavier the kick used, the further she’ll travel with more kicks if you hit the opponent. The EX version spins in place and is an ideal reactionary anti-air attack.
Critical Art (Super) – Hoyokusen (Quarter Circle Forwards x2 + Kick)
Chun-Li’s super move is basically a jazzed-up version of Lightning Legs – she dashes forwards with one main kick. If this connects, the super will go into its full animation. If not, she lets rip a further series of kicks anyway. There’s a nice short dash forwards for that first kick, so you don’t have to be completely in an opponent’s face when you trigger this
Air Throw: Ryuseiraku (Light Punch + Light Kick near an airborne opponent)
Chun-Li has an air throw, meaning if you meet an opponent in the air you can grab them and throw them to the ground like any other throw.
These moves are ‘normal moves’, but are executed when pressing certain button combinations or sequences, and often have specific uses and properties. Try them in training mode to see what they’re useful for!
