Double Fine has gained the IP rights to Iron Brigade, its World War I tower defense title, and the first order of business was to remove GFWL and replace it with Steam matchmaking.

The developer has also fixed “all known issues,” and made other improvements. The update was released today via Steam and it is currently on sale for 80% off.

“The great thing about this change is that now there are no obstacles to us creating the best possible experience for players,” said the game’s creator, Brad Muir.”

Originally released in 2011, Iron Brigade was originally titled Trenched before a trademarks dispute led to the name change.

The Iron Brigade IP was originally owned by its publisher Microsoft and released on PC and Xbox 360.
