A Story About My Uncle getting Steam release via Sanctum developer

A Story About My Uncle, a non-violent, first-person indie released as a free demo in 2012, is getting a full, commercial release.

That VideoGame Blog reports developer Gone North Games has entered into an agreement with Coffee Stain Studios, the team behind the Sanctum series, to help produce a new version for release on Steam.

Unfortunately this means the free demo, which was nominated for game of the year at the 2012 Swedish Game Awards, is no longer available.

The core conceit of A Story About My Uncle is a grappling hook attached to the user's right arm, which allows for more stylish and fluid exploration than these first-person atmospheric affairs usually allow.

Haunt the Gone North website for updates on the project.
