Sleeping Dogs gets live action trailer
Square has confirmed that True Crime: Hong Kong has been rebranded as Sleeping Dogs, releasing a very cool live action trailer in celebration. The game’s new identity was rumoured overnight. Watch it below, and get full details on the announcement here.

Hirshberg: Not all studio analysis periods are “a fait accompli”
Activision publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg has said that not all studio analysis periods lead to closures, like with Bizarre, as the firm does its best to find buyers for the product like with True Crime developer United Front Games.

Square Enix to launch retitled True Crime: Hong Kong game 2012
The European Square Enix blog has given a 2012 release window for the game previously known as Truce Crime: Hong Kong.
The publisher’s purchase of the United Front-developed game – but not the rights to its title and IP – from Activision was announced earlier this week, but no launch date was set.

Modnation Racers results in 2 million “creations”
Sony said last night that 2 million tracks, cars and whatever else have been created for PS3 kart game Modnation Racers since it released last May. The company is celebrating by releasing the game as a Greatest Hits title in the US for $30. A bunch of new, free DLC will be put out for the game this week. There’s more on the PS Blog.

Interview – True Cime: Hong Kong associate producer George Ngo

VG247 recently caught up with Activision’s George Ngo, associate producer on True Crime: Hong Kong, to chat about the latest outing in the open-world action series.
The game has been in development for three years and is clearly inspired by Hong Kong action movies. It is incredibly fast-paced, hugely violent, and contains lots of truly fantastic swearing.
Our first impression of the game, based on the demo shown to us at a pre-E3 event in London, was that it was definitely one to watch out for when it releases later in the year.
