The multiplayer component of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has gone free to play up till level 15. How? What? Why? Naughty Dog hears your babbling confusion and has provided a couple of handy resources. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has been updated to version 1.17 in a patch issued earlier today. Full patch notes are available direct from Naughty Dog, but as fascinating as they are, the developer’s comment that the patch sets the game up for “biggest update to Uncharted 3 Multiplayer yet” is particularly interesting. This second update apparently drops tomorrow. I wonder what it could be? Hem hem.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception seems to be doing the business in Japan, which is surely something of a coup, given how often Western titles can fall flat in the country. Sony has added the game – along with Dynasty Warriors 7 and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd – to its ‘Best of’ range.

Naughty Dog has announced an extensive patch for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Update 1.13 is due in August and contains a hefty dose of balancing and gameplay changes, with more to be revealed soon, but really the reason you care now is that for some reason the developer has marked the occasion by posting a number of never-before released remixes of the game’s score. I don’t understand it either, but whatevs, man; they’re pretty ace.

A new patch has been released for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, which fixes an annoying matchmaking issue which left half the party sitting in the lobby, and also disallows hosting for those on slower connections. Get the full run down on the Naughty Dog blog.

Naughty Dog’s announced it’s to bring a new Shade Survival co-op mode to Uncharted 3 as of next month. There are no additional details besides a screen that teases the mode off. The developer also wheeled out a trailer for the second map pack for the game, the Flashback Map Pack, which launches today in the US. Get it below the break.

The Writer’s Guild of America has given its coveted VideoGame Writing award to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Game director Justin Richmond tweeted the news along with a photo of writer Amy Hennig accepting the award. Uncharted 3 was up against Batman: Arkham City, Brink, Mortal Kombat and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – a strong contender as the same team took home the prize for Brotherhood last year.

Batman: Arkham City and LA Noire lead the way for the 2012 BAFTA Game Awards with eight nominations each.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception patch 1.04 has been released, and is expected to reach all territories within 24 hours. Naughty Dog advises the patch will prime the game for upcoming DLC, which will be detailed tomorrow. The patch also fixes a bug in co-op adventure mode which made some objectives impossible to complete on higher difficulty settings.
