THQ dropped a new Homefront multiplayer movie today, showing many things exploding and being shot. The online play appears to bear a startling aesthetic resemblance to a certain other modern, war-based game we won’t mention, but them’s the breaks. Homefront, developed by Kaos, releases on March 15 in the US and March 18 in the UK for PS3, 360 and PC.

THQ’s confirmed details of a fake – again, fake – anti-North Korean protest ahead of the release of Homefront in a couple of weeks. The protest will take place in San Francisco, where “the march” will go across the Golden Gate Bridge and end at Yerba Buena Gardens. That just so happens to be across the street from the Moscone Centre and GDC.

Rex Dickson, lead level designer at Kaos Studios has said that currently there is a bit of a “massacre fatigue” problem in gaming, and the way the studio solved this issue in Homefront, was by breaking up core combat every “two or three minutes,” with either “a story moment, a drama moment, spectacle moment or vista moment.”
