Bilson: North Korea has been "really cooperative" in helping with Homefront story

THQ core boss Danny "Lips" Bilson has said Homefront's backstory between North Korea and the US is borne of a "speculative fiction that comes out of paranoid theory."

Infamously, the shooter's E3 reveal trailer showed a real-life clip of a press conference featuring the Japanese prime minister and US secretary of state Hilary Clinton, in which she said the sinking of a South Korean submarine came from the North.

Bilson said that because of North Korea scaring the shit out of everyone on the planet with its nuclear testing, it's been "really cooperative" in trying to sell the world of the game. The comment was tongue-in-cheek, of course.

"And we really appreciate the regime in North Korea for supporting Homefront the way they have," he jokingly said.

He confirmed there would be a novel of the game that would go on sale early next year which would provide some backstory from a reporter in 2027 during the shooter's timeline.

He said last night that the Kaos shooter can "compete" with other games in the FPS space.

Homefront releases next March for PS3, 360 and PC. A multiplayer demo is planned.

Bilson's already confirmed Homefront 2 has been planned out.
