Wildstar's next update is called Destination Arcterra, and one of its many selling points is that it accompanies the free-to-play MMO's Steam release.

Due sometime in the first half of 2016, Destination Arcterra adds the eponymous realm - a frozen wasteland, and one of the most remote locations on Nexus. Dotted with ruins and ancient technology, this max-level zone includes dynamic content and events for groups and solo players alike. For example, the new "snowballing" boss encounters; as players defeat bosses, more powerful encounters appear, offering increased rewards.

A new event called Heavy Weather will challenge players to collect keys from boss encounters, unlocking a dungeon exclusive to their faction. Plus, there's loads of all-new loot to find.

Chapter 2 of the Nexus Saga, Vault of the Archon, kicks off in Arcterra. Seek out the Vault instance deep in the wastes to continue the story of Drusera and the Entity. Players will encounter "unique gameplay mechanics, secret locations, and memorable boss encounters", apparently, while enjoying a full storyline - voiced NPCs, cinematics and all. It's available solo or in groups.

Carbine said there's more yet to be detailed, including "information about everyone's favorite Lopp fortune teller, tidbits about undead zombie pirates, and protips about how to make your most awesome gear even awesomer". Check out some screenshots on the Wildstar news blog.
