Rock Band 4 will be 1080p 60 FPS because this is the glorious future

Rock Band 4 will be technically better looking than many other new-gen games because it is the best franchise ever.

Rock Band product manager Eric Pope has said the fourth game will "be 1080p and will run at 60 FPS".

It sounds like this is Harmonix's target for both PS4 and Xbox One. The developer has "built a brand new engine for Rock Band 4 to make the most of the new hardware", Pope said in the latest issue of MCV, as reported by Videogamer.

"It's going to look 'next-gen' with more realistic lighting, character models, and animation," he said.

Pope also said that while he knows fans are excited to know about the frame rate and resolution, he's personally more excited about online infrastructure.

"It will open a lot [of] opportunities for us to support the game in more reactive, timely ways," he added.

MCV also touted an October release date for the new-gen sequel and said rumours suggest Guitar Hero will also be revived, but it's not clear how reliable these tidbits are.
